October 23, 2017 – The Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Faiza Khan as Executive Director.
Faiza brings fourteen years of experience in the global distribution of electronic components and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Minor in Business Foundations from the University of Texas at Austin.
Her unwavering commitment to quality standards and customer relations will greatly enhance IDEA’s membership experience. Within her first few weeks Faiza is already implementing major process improvements to achieve this.
Faiza will be working closely with the Board of Trustees to refresh IDEA’s leadership and prestige in the standards of supply chain security. Her proven excellence in business development will introduce the IDEA brand to a broader spectrum. Faiza is spearheading the expansion of IDEA to the commercial sector as well as establishing an international presence for IDEA.

October 19, 2017 – The Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA) announces the election of Board Officers for the 2017-2018 term. The Officers were elected by the IDEA Board of Trustees and will begin serving their term immediately following today’s board meeting.
With the election of New Officers, IDEA proclaims a renewed focus on their mission to promote Responsible Procurement Solutions to the global supply chain. IDEA will build on and expand their position as the highest standard for quality initiatives in the distribution of electronic components.
Jason Jowers was elected President and has served on the Board of Trustees since 2009. Jason is the Global Vice President of Quality and Operations at Velocity Electronics, an IDEA Member since 2008. Jason has helped develop and expand upon IDEA’s core focus as the co-chairman of the IDEA-QMS-9090 development committee. Jason also holds leadership positions on several key industry committees and associations and has given presentations regarding counterfeit mitigation and supply chain security at numerous conferences. Jason earned a BS in Management from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a MBA from the University of Texas at Austin's McCombs School of Business. His proven experience in establishing quality procedures and operations, together with his elite educational background are exactly what IDEA needs to propel themselves into the next chapter of leadership in quality initiatives by further enhancing their programs and expanding their outreach.
Scott McKee, the Director of Operations at 4 Star Electronics was elected Vice-President. 4 Star Electronics has been a member of IDEA since 2008 and Scott has served on the Board of Trustees since 2016. Scott has made significant contributions to several IDEA committees, actively participating on the Purchasing Standard Committee, the IDEA-QMS-9090 Revision Committee, the Marketing Committee and the Government Liaison Committee. Along with degrees in Economics and Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Scott brings over 25 years of experience in the electronic component distribution industry, with a focus on quality management systems and process development for authorized distributors, independent distributors, and value-added providers. Scott’s vast knowledge and experience will be instrumental in driving IDEA’s renewed focus.
Gil Aouizerat, the CEO of PCX, was elected to the Secretary / Treasurer position. Gil has served on the Board of Trustees since 2003 and has held leading roles on various committees, most recently as Chair of the Purchasing Standard committee. Gil also serves on the Marketing & Public Relations committee, the IDEA-STD-1010 Update Committee and the IDEA-QMS-9090 Committee. Gil was also actively involved in helping IDEA establish an online social media presence. Gil graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside.

CLEVELAND, GA, October 18, 2016 – The Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA) announces the election of Board Officers for the 2016-2017 term. The Officers were elected by the IDEA Board of Trustees and began serving their terms earlier this month.
Hande Meissner was elected President. Meissner has served on the Board of Directors since 2014 and is the Vice President of Operations of NexGen Digital, Inc., an IDEA Member since 2003. Hande also serves on numerous IDEA Committees and is providing leadership as Co-Chair for the creation of a new purchasing guidelines standard specific to the open market.

WEST BADEN SPRINGS, IN / ACCESSWIRE / October 6, 2014 / The Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA) announces the launch of a new program that encourages designated participation in IDEA for companies that are not Independent Distributors. The Qualified Program Participant Company (QPPC) Program was developed to expand access to IDEA’s products and services and to broaden the reach of its highly detailed standards that help organizations to develop and maintain their counterfeit mitigation efforts.
The QPPC Program has launched for Test Services Companies, the first category of many other company categories in development. For the QPPC – Test Services Program, an applicant company must meet a comprehensive and rigorous set of requirements, including the requirement to maintain IDEA-ICE-3000 Professional Inspector Certifications, and the applicant company must be approved by the Membership and Ethics Oversight Committee.
