Association Adopts Tool to Help Combat Fraudulent and Substandard Parts

Princeton Junction, NJ, January 16, 2004– In order to help independent distributors better identify and protect themselves against the industry-plaguing problem of fraudulent and substandard parts, the Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA), a non-profit trade association that represents the independent market segment, recently announced the availability of its Electronic Components Inspection Manual. The manual, available to IDEA members only, was created to establish general requirements for the receiving and inspection of electronic components by brokers, suppliers and/or independent testing laboratories.

To address the concerns of new members in the European region and surrounding areas, IDEA has announced the creation of its European Development Committee. Updated Daily, the Board Provides Instant Access To Non-Conforming Parts

Princeton Junction, NJ, August 24, 2004- As part of an ongoing effort to fight the war on non-conforming parts, which continue to plague the independent distribution channel, the Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA) recently established a "Non-Conforming Parts Board" that is now accessible via the Internet. The Board is designed for use exclusively by members of IDEA, a non-profit trade association representing the independent distributor market segment.
